Engineered membranes for water treatment and reuse.
Nano-enabled membrane fabrication and characterization
Electroconductive membranes for separation and degradation of pollutants
My research has centered on advancing sustainable technologies for water purification and energy production. I have focused on innovative applications of biological wastewater treatment alongside membrane separation, biotechnology, and materials engineering for water decontamination. Much of my work is dedicated to developing resilient biocatalytic membranes and media, addressing challenges like membrane biofouling and protecting functional catalytic microbes from the impact of high salinity and organic solvents. As well, I have explored electroconductive membranes for degrading emerging pollutants and gained expertise in Omniphobic and Janus membranes for hyper saline wastewater treatment and membrane desalination applications.
